How we measure trend

An ETF is in an uptrend when its price is above its 20-day exponential moving average and the 10, 20, 50 and 200-day exponential averages are stacked in order, or it has made a new all-time high. A downtrend is the reverse. Everything else is a base. A new stage must hold for five trading days.
