Core or satellite?

SATELLITE Quality, value & factors

QUAL is a satellite: a “factor” tilt toward quality companies. Some investors use it in place of a plain global ETF in their core, but it overlaps heavily with VGS and BGBL. In our approach, satellites are bought when they break out of a base into an uptrend, kept to a small slice of the portfolio, and sold with a stop loss. Read more in core and satellite investing.
